about
New song of our album, "Every Eye is a Universe", which will be released in summer of 2016.
Recorded in one take. We decided to record this song in a big empty basement underneath an office building which is part of underground Seattle The forgotten caverns of the city beneath a city are a nice metaphor for the meaning of the song. This just happens to also be the same place where the song was written. It's kind of a secret underground hideout, where most of the album, "Every Eye is a Universe" was written.
Sing me to Sleep is about the ephemerality of human relationships. When people can be tossed aside so easily, what are the implications for love and compassion? The answer to that question is the central observation of this song.

lyrics
i've squandered all my decembers
as leaves were falling from the trees
and i awoke in a sea of delusion
that soaked all the insights of my dreams
so lay me to bed
and sing me to sleep
until the morning erases me
and drown in your dreams
and empty your thoughts
and make me a memory
because by the daybreak that's all i will be
the dust turns to ash in my footsteps
the sidewalks are cracking and crossing my path
the coffers i carry are running on empty
the portraits i've painted have faded to black
so lay me to bed
and sing me to sleep
until the morning erases me
and drown in your dreams
and empty your thoughts
and make me a memory
because by the daybreak that's all i will be
